1/16/11-Machiaveli and how my life is a lie

Today I said something to the effect of “I hated that (The Prince) book. However, it did have some amusing points throughout its satirical spin on governmental domination.” ONLY TO DISCOVER that my high school history teacher, the dear “Coach” Crawford, LIED TO ME! The Prince is not a satire in the least! Rather, it is a completely legitimate stance on how to properly govern. WHAT THE CRAP?! So. Not only do I now play the fool, but I got played by a fool. I haven’t the faintest idea what to believe anymore. Was anyone else under the impression that Machiavelli was a mocker?
