8/30/10-Adventures as: A Maintenance Girl

Work-Study. It’s not like you can study as you work. Honestly it’s not like you canever study in college. It’s like a sleepover every night. And in the words of my best friend, it’s like we’re eating mac and cheese like it has its own place on the food pyramid. I bring up mac and cheese to bring up microwaves. Yes. Microwaves. Just one actually. Just the one. Red. In the lobby. This foxy red micro and I got really intimate today. As I lovingly disinfected and scrubbed its silken surface. Additionally, the water fountains got more attention today than they have in several years I’d assume. Not only were they sprayed with 19 (Yes. 19. That’s the snazzy little number they assign to the disinfectant used to clean counter-tops and water fountains), left to soak, and then cleaned, BUT they also received the deluxe treatment of stainless steel shine enhancer. We run a very tight shop here. Then as I was just minding my own business vacuuming, a boy showed up in the lobby. How or when he got there I have no idea. Boys don’t have keys to the girls’ dorm. But there he sat as I was vacuuming with Ugly (my loving name for Senor Vacuum)  (I would also like to point out that I have ALWAYS thought that vacuum was spelled vaccuum. Spell Check is leading me astray. I feel lied to) a girl sat down with the boy. Little couch. Big Ugly. Me. Awk. And I had just started. We were in for quite the time. But your face shines in those water fountains.
