What I don’t like about blogs is the commitment. People expect you to write on them. You expect yourself to write on them. If you’ve been pretty consistently funny, then you’re expected to write funny things. It feels weird and illegal if you break that trend. In the same way, if you write something amusing on a somber blog, it seems irreverent. I’m not that funny. Not calculatedly so. I’m well read, which lends to my humor immensely, but I am only funny contextually. In bright little quips. Quite out of nowhere. When I try to be funny, I tend to fail. Pretty badly.
